The most famous religious landmark of Loikaw is the Thiri-Mingalar Taung-kwe Pagoda. Taung Kwe means broken mountain. It is also called Thirimingalar Taung Zedi as it was built on the hillock called Thirimingalar.The pagoda is 380 ft high and it was built on 9 natural hillocks. It is called ‘Phaw Pye’ in Kayah language. You can enjoy great views of the marvellous landscape of Loikaw from the top.
